The Natives Rifle Club held its annual two-day Prize Meeting on Saturday and Sunday, October 12th and 13th with each day providing different weather and associated challenges for the competitors.  Saturday was sunny and hot while Sunday commenced with rain that delayed the start but cleared for cool SE winds to blow strongly from 10.30 o’clock into the faces of the shooters.

Natives’ members featured prominently with wins in the Les Perrin Memorial Grand Aggregate to Bob Crawford (TR-A), Rudi Mueller (TR-B), Zyden Wiid (TR-C), Peter Noonan (FS-A) and Brett Clarkson (Sporter-PCO).  Natives’ members notably also gained podium finishes in all the different grades and disciplines. 

Club members also fared well in the day-1 Carina Leagues Club Short-Range Aggregate and the day-2 Gun Traders Long Range Aggregate.  The Club is very grateful for the sponsorship provided by these two major organisations and all the other sponsors who help make the Prize Meeting a great success.

Following the conclusion of the main competition a traditional shoot-off was conducted.  The Keith Affleck Belt challenge consisted of the top 10 TR shooters in the Grand Aggregate, regardless of grade, while the Wild Dog Custom Rifle Challenge saw the top 3 competitors in each of the F-Class and Sporter Classes shoot 10 shots shoulder to shoulder at 1000 yards.
